East Cork Golf Club was founded in 1968 when Eamon and Peg Moloney converted their dairy farm into a nine hole golf course. The Course is situated on the outskirts of Midleton, bordered by two rivers, making it an ideal parkland location for a golf course. Eddie Hackett, one of Irelands foremost Golf Course Architects designed the course and local development contractor, Ned Moran carried out the work. The Course was officially opened on the 10th of November 1969 by the late Mr. Brian Lenihan, T.D.

The course was extended to 18 holes in 1975 and an extension to the clubhouse was completed in 1992.

The hospitality and courtesy to all has become a legendary feature of East Cork Golf Club.
